I wrote and recorded this track around 2011 for my 3rd album and then set it aside as my album was already finishing up. Believe it or not, over the years I completely forgot about the song. in early 2020 I was going through my old hard drives and discovered this gem of a tune. I was very surprised when I heard it and remembered it right away. I knew I had to finish it and get it on the reboot of my 3rd album. Most of the guitar tracks remain original. I called up my friend Larry Crowe and mentioned the tune, he offered to play drums on it and called up Lenny Castro to asked if he wanted to play percussion on it, which he did. In the fall of 2020 they all recorded on this song and I was thrilled with how it turned out. I'm extremely grateful for them playing on this and believing in the song.

‘Manhattan Nights ‘
To change things up a bit, I’m going to have some fun releases coming in the months ahead. I’ll be releasing singles from my upcoming album which is a reboot of my 2011 album (that is no longer available). It will have a mix of acoustic and electric guitars, drums, percussion, bass and keys with upbeat 70’s vibes and some deep cuts. I’ve had this in the works for over the past year and change..
To kick things off at the the end of next month, I’m releasing the first single from it called ‘Manhattan Nights’. The track features Lenny Castro on percussion, Larry Crowe on drums and Ken Freeman on bass. I plan on releasing the entire album later in the year.

This is a song I recorded in 2009 that was originally off of my 2011 album. Last summer a fan of the music was asking how to get a copy of this song as that album is no longer available. I had said I would add it to my release schedule.
This is the original version of the song that was mastered at Oto-Mare in Santa Fe. When I changed to a different album distributor a few years back I decided to hold off from releasing the album as I have different plans for it. That album will be coming out later in the year and next month I’ll be releasing the first single from it.

‘MIRANDA’ (2021 Version)
This is a 2021 version of my original piece 'Miranda'. I wrote this song in 1997 after I got my first flamenco guitar, a 1995 Vazquez blanca. At the time I was studying flamenco rhythms with Paco Arroyo in Los Angeles and he helped me pick out this very special guitar. Though I'm not a flamenco guitarist I applied what I learned into writing this song and went into the recording studio to make a demo. A few years later I rerecorded it and it ended up being the title track on my first album release in 2002
It has been fun to revisit this track, I recorded it with the same 95' Vazquez guitar as the original version.

This song was a lot of fun to record. I kept hearing the melody in my head for some time and when it wouldn't stop coming around into my thoughts I decided to record it. It heads into some new territory for me blending the acoustic and electric guitars with more of a downbeat feel and a pop arrangement. I hope you enjoy it!
